The drug's proposed mechanism of action involves simultaneous inhibition of STAT3 (search) and NF-κB (search) pathways, which are involved in pathological processes of IPF and interstitial lung disease degeneration.
Clinical data from ACT001 studies revealed that 38% or 11 out of 29 evaluable IPF (search) patients exhibited non-progression disease after 12 months of treatment, defined by at least 0 or positive FVC% Pred. When considering an FVC% Pred decline of 1 as a stable disease indicator, the response rate increased to 45%.
