The 12-week randomized, double-blind, multicenter, placebo-controlled study is testing three dose levels of resomelagon (40mg, 70mg, and 100mg) alongside placebo in patients with elevated inflammation levels and severe disease symptoms who are initiating first-line methotrexate therapy.
Clinical Trial Design and Patient Population
The ADVANCE study enrolled newly diagnosed RA patients with C-reactive protein (CRP) levels above 3mg/l and severe disease symptoms across more than 30 clinical sites. All participants are ready to begin standard first-line methotrexate therapy, representing a patient population where early intervention could potentially alter disease trajectory.
