AI-Powered Screening Technology
eyonis® LCS (search) is an AI-based Computer-Aided Detection and Diagnosis (CADe/CADx) Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) that received FDA 510(k) clearance on February 9, 2026. The system is uniquely capable of both detecting and characterizing lung cancer in low-dose CT scans (LDCT) with impressive performance metrics: 93.3% sensitivity, 92.4% specificity, and 99.9% Negative Predictive Value (NPV), based on manufacturer values calculated on a lung cancer screening reference population.
The technology enables clinicians to not only detect lung nodules but also characterize and risk stratify them from the same CT image without additional workflow steps. This integration provides a proprietary nodule malignancy score that allows clinical teams to stratify and prioritize patients in lung cancer screening programs.
Addressing Critical Screening Gaps
According to a study by the American Cancer Society cited in the announcement, only about 20% of eligible individuals in the U.S. were screened for lung cancer in 2024. The collaboration aims to close this significant gap, with full participation among eligible individuals potentially preventing an estimated 62,110 lung cancer deaths over five years.
The partnership targets the 14.5 million Americans eligible for lung cancer screening and builds on the existing NT-APC 1508 reimbursement pathway, which provides coverage of $601-$700 for screening procedures.

Through this non-exclusive distribution agreement, Tempus AI will distribute eyonis® LCS (search) to U.S. imaging providers through the Tempus Pixel (search) platform and support implementation, customer onboarding, and workflow integration.
