This marks the availability of the first and only generic equivalent to this important medication.
The newly launched octreotide acetate is indicated for the treatment of acromegaly (搜索), a hormonal disorder that develops when the pituitary gland produces too much growth hormone, and for managing severe diarrhea associated with carcinoid syndrome (搜索), a condition caused by tumors that secrete certain chemicals into the bloodstream.
