Tobacco-Free Nicotine Products: Why 'Tobacco-Free' Does Not Mean Risk-Free

"Studies show that by marketing a product as 'tobacco-free,' youth are much more likely to pick it up because they no longer perceive the product as 'harmful.'"

What 'Tobacco-Free' Actually Means

Regarding weight loss claims, Cofer explained: "Because nicotineView drug details is a stimulant, it's going to suppress appetite and increase your metabolic rate—the rate at which your body burns energy to maintain important functions. But it is not an approved weight loss drug or shouldn't be a part of the weight loss regimen."

Claims about physical performance enhancement similarly lack evidence beyond nicotineView drug details's temporary stimulant effects.

Additional Health Consequences

"Oral nicotine products will impact the oral cavity. It can irritate the throat and vocal cords. If a vape is sweetened with flavors, it could cause additional cavities," Cofer noted.

Research has shown that in the short term, vaping can cause respiratory and cardiac illnesses. Because oral nicotineView drug details pouches are so new, their side effects are not yet well understood.

For pregnant or breastfeeding women, consuming nicotineView drug details is especially dangerous, potentially harming the baby's brain and lung development and increasing risks of low birth weight, preterm birth, and sudden infant death syndrome (search)Search disease (SIDS).
