Transcenta Therapeutics (搜索) (HKEX: 06628) and its subsidiary HJB (搜索) have entered into a technology licensing and strategic collaboration agreement with WuXi Biologics (2269.HK), granting the global CRDMO a non-exclusive license to certain technologies relating to Transcenta's Highly Intensified Continuous Bioprocessing (HiCB (搜索)) platform and ExcelPro (搜索) cell culture media. The deal, announced September 9, 2026, positions WuXi Biologics as Transcenta's strategic partner for chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) development and supporting molecules across Transcenta's development pipeline.
Under the terms of the agreement, Transcenta will receive an upfront payment of RMB 10 million and will be eligible for milestone payments upon the achievement of specified conditions. The company said the collaboration is part of its continued efforts to advance partnerships for its HiCB (搜索) technology platform and broaden its application to address CMC challenges for complex biologic molecules.
Platform Design and Productivity Gains
According to the companies, the HiCB (搜索) platform integrates intensified continuous perfusion upstream processing with hybrid continuous downstream purification. This configuration enables what the companies describe as a step-change in productivity, achieving a significant increase compared with conventional fed-batch processes while maintaining superior product quality through shorter residence time and optimized culture conditions.
The platform is also described as capable of significantly reducing cost of goods, lowering capital investment, and enabling agile and just-in-time production.
