Targeting Beta-Amyloid Plaques
Donanemab is designed to address the underlying pathology of Alzheimer's disease by targeting and removing beta-amyloid (search) plaques, abnormal protein deposits in the brain. "People with Alzheimer’s disease (search) have an abnormal buildup of plaques in their brain that contain a protein called beta-amyloid.
