Cardiovascular Care Achieves Statewide Prominence
Cardiovascular care emerged as a particular strength for WellSpan this year. WellSpan York Hospital earned a new specialty ranking as the No. 5 hospital in Pennsylvania for cardiology, heart and vascular surgery. The hospital also received High Performing recognition across a broad range of cardiovascular procedures and conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, heart arrhythmia, pacemaker implantation, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and aortic valve surgery.
Additional heart care recognitions were awarded to WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital, WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital, and WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, reflecting the depth and geographic reach of WellSpan's cardiovascular network.

WellSpan York Hospital was recognized for colon and prostate cancer surgery, as well as treatment of leukemia (search), lymphoma (search), and myeloma (search). WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital earned recognition for colon cancer surgery. Several hospitals across the system, including WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital and WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, were recognized for orthopedic and musculoskeletal care, including knee replacement and hip fracture treatment.
