ISPE Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Announcement of 2025 Facility of the Year Awards Winners

• Touchlight's synthetic DNA manufacturing facility and Johnson & Johnson's flexible packaging operations were among the winners recognized for advancing pharmaceutical manufacturing standards and sustainability initiatives.
• The overall 2025 FOYA winner will be announced at a special black-tie celebration during the ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina in October 2025.
Daré Bioscience Advances Women's Health Portfolio with Funding and Clinical Progress
• Daré Bioscience is progressing its hormone-free contraceptive, Ovaprene, in a Phase 3 efficacy study, boosted by a foundation grant to expand clinical sites.
• Sildenafil Cream 3.6% for female sexual arousal disorder is advancing towards Phase 3 after constructive FDA discussions on trial design and endpoints.
• DARE-HPV, a novel treatment for HPV-related cervical diseases, is set for a Phase 2 trial, supported by a $10 million ARPA-H award.
• Activities are underway for Phase 2 and Phase 1 studies of DARE-VVA1 and DARE-PTB1, respectively, targeting dyspareunia and preterm birth prevention.
Durvalumab Demonstrates Improved Survival in Liver and Bladder Cancers
• Durvalumab plus tremelimumab showed a 24% reduction in death risk versus sorafenib in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), with 19.6% alive at 5 years versus 9.4%.
• In muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC), durvalumab with chemotherapy reduced disease progression, recurrence, or death by 32% compared to chemotherapy alone.
• Durvalumab-based regimens also improved overall survival in MIBC, reducing the risk of death by 25% compared to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radical cystectomy.
