Borvo Medical announces FDA 510(k) clearance for the Borvo Endoport Vacuum-Assisted Collection (EVAC) system, an advanced alternative to traditional subdural haematoma (SDH) drainage methods. The EVAC system, set to be available in early 2025, leverages state-of-the-art fabrication techniques and is MRI-compatible, offering improved safety and effectiveness. Borvo EVAC aims to enhance neurosurgical practices by providing clearer postoperative CT scans and reducing clogging compared to older technologies.

Case Western Reserve University researchers, with a $3.3M NIH grant, study if brain proteins like Eph receptors contribute to Alzheimer's, focusing on the blood-brain barrier's role. Collaborating with Texas Tech, UT, and Memorial Sloan Kettering, they aim to understand these proteins' functions in disease development.
