• The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at UPEI has initiated a clinical trial to evaluate propranolol for treating cardiac tumors in dogs.
• Propranolol, a beta-blocker used in children for similar conditions, will be assessed for its ability to shrink tumors and improve the quality of life in dogs.
• The trial will enroll dogs referred by their veterinarian, providing them with oral medication for one month while being monitored by AVC specialists.
• Supported by multiple foundations, the study aims to address the limited treatment options currently available for cardiac tumors in canines.
