Nigeria linked over 64,000 deaths to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in 2019, with only 42.7% of the population having access to healthcare. AMR, prevalent among humans, animals, and the environment, threatens modern medicine and could cause 10 million deaths annually by 2050. The Ministry of Health launched the AMR National Action Plan 2.0 to combat this, emphasizing leadership, surveillance, and public awareness.
