Cognitive Training Apps Show Promise in Slowing Cognitive Decline in Hemodialysis Patients

- A pilot study is underway to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of patient-led cognitive gamified training (CGT) using mobile apps during hemodialysis sessions. - The study involves a pseudo-randomized controlled trial comparing CGT intervention to standard care in slowing cognitive decline among hemodialysis patients. - Participants will use cognitive training apps for 30 minutes per hemodialysis session, three times a week, over a four-month period, with cognitive and quality of life assessments conducted. - The trial aims to evaluate changes in cognitive test results and behavioral test scores between the intervention and control groups to inform future, larger-scale studies.
