- The National Biosafety Authority (NBA) and Chuka University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance biosafety education, research, innovation and capacity building in Kenya. - The partnership will support joint research projects, curriculum development, professional training, internships, industrial attachments, mentorship programmes and biosafety summer schools for students and staff. - The collaboration aims to build skilled biosafety and biosecurity professionals, promote safe biotechnology practices and reinforce Kenya's biosafety regulatory framework under the Biosafety Act, Cap. 320. - NBA Acting CEO Dr. Ann Karimi and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry Mutembei signed the agreement, underscoring a shared commitment to addressing misinformation and advancing GMO and biotechnology adoption.
