Abolis Biotechnologies and EUROAPI Partner to Restore European Corticosteroid Production Through Microbial Biotechnology

- Abolis Biotechnologies and EUROAPI have formed a strategic partnership to develop microbial bioprocesses for producing corticosteroids and 20 active pharmaceutical ingredients in Europe. - The collaboration is part of the Med4Cure program under the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI), receiving up to €140 million in public support through France 2030. - The partnership aims to address Europe's heavy dependence on Asian manufacturers, who currently control nearly 80% of the global corticosteroid market. - Production will be distributed between EUROAPI's European manufacturing sites in St Aubin-lès-Elbeuf and Vertolaye, with Abolis receiving four-year funding from Bpifrance and EUROAPI.
