简要总结

There were no significant differences in age and IOP among 2 groups. shorter axial length, shallower ACD and lower baseline BCVA were found in nanophthalmos. Mean postoperative BCVA statistically improved by 0.78 logMAR in nanophthalmos. Higher SE errors were observed in nanophthalmos compared to control eyes. Six nanophthalmos (37.5%) experienced post-operative complications which were corneal edema, iris injury, uveal effusion and postoperative inflammation compared to 3 eyes (6%) in control eyes.

入选标准

  • 1. Patient who underwent routine phacoemulsification with IOLs implantation at Mettapracharak (Wat Rhaiking) Hospital during 2014 to 2019.
  • 2. Nanophthalmos in the study was defined as an axial length less than 20 millimeters by IOLs master calculation.
  • 3. Normal control eyes were defined as axial length more than millimeters.

排除标准

  • eye with axial length > 25 millimeters, post-operative follow up less than 2 months and eye with structural abnormalities included microcornea which defined by horizontal corneal diameter < 10 millimeters, traumatic cataract, uveitis, retinal and optic nerve abnormalities such as chorioretinal coloboma, retinoschisis and foveal schisis.
