•1.Patient with acute exacerbation (Anthonisen et al) / critically ill patients
•2.Patient with moderate/severe exacerbation in last 4 weeks as defined by severity scale proposed by Cazzola et al.
•3.Patient with active respiratory disease other than COPD (tuberculosis, lung malignancies, Bronchiectasis, pneumonia, bronchial asthma)
•4.Patient with acute systemic/local infection
•5.Patient with cardiac disease (CCF, Recent myocardial infarction, Cardiac arrhythmias)
•6.Patient with gastrointestinal disorders (Gastro-esophageal reflux disorder, peptic ulcer, Undiagnosed abdominal pain)
•7.Patient with renal or hepatic impairment
•8.Patient with h/o hypersensitivity to tetracyclines
•9.Patient receiving oral corticosteroids
