Prospective, cross sectional, observational study to analyze the correlation between Emotional Intelligence and burnout syndrome among doctors

It is a Prospective, cross sectional, observational study to analyze thecorrelation between Emotional Intelligence and burnout syndrome among doctors. Emotional Intelligence (EI) is recognized as an importantpersonal attribute involved in nurturing the patient doctor relationship (PDR). Burnout syndrome is the result of the workers’ long-lasting exposure tooccupational stress. It is considered a psychosocial phenomenon, which ischaracterized by physical and mental exhaustion. Investigators intend to start the study, post writtenconsent of doctors.In this study the Emotional Intelligenceand  Burnout Syndrome will be assessed by Physician Well-BeingIndex-Expanded (ePWBI) scale which includes questions about satisfaction withwork-life integration and meaning in work. Briefly, the index is intended toinclude the domains of burnout, depression, stress, fatigue, and mental andphysical QOL. It consists of 7 yes/no items and respondents receive a scorefrom 0 to 7 based on responses. The outcome of the study will be based onthe results of the survey questionnaire which will be analyzed by theinvestigator to indicate presence or absence of burnout in participants. Acounselling session will be arranged for the same by the investigator.
