简要总结
Aging leads to the decline of balance ability and posture control ability of elderly, which increases the risk of falls. Balance impairment is common among older adults and estimates of its prevalence range between 20 and 50%. About 300,000 people worldwide die from falls every year.
Among different balance training regimens, Otago exercise program and Task Oriented Circuit Training have shown significant improvement in balance in Elderly. We find that both protocols effective in improving balance separately. However, to best of our knowledge, no study has been conducted in order to compare the effectiveness of these two protocols.
People will be screened based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. selected people will then be divided into two groups using random allocation software: group A (Otago exercise program) and group B (Task Oriented Circuit Training). There will be pre-intervention assessment. participants will undergo a four week intervention consisting of 3 sessions per week, followed by a post-intervention assessment. The outcome measures will be done by using Berg Balance Scale and Timed Up and Go test. Variation in the pre and post outcome measure will help us to find out which exercise regimen is more effective in improving balance in Elderly.
