- •At least one of the following criteria:
- •- Clinical sign(s) of infection, e.g. fever (calor), redness (rubor), impaired organ function (functio laesa)
- •- Paraclinical signs of infection: CRP = 15mg/l and/or leukocytes outside the age-appropriate norm
- •- Planned antiinfective therapy
- •- Microbiological/virological infection diagnostics

- •- Presence of medical reasons that speak against the withdrawal of blood volume
- •- Imprisonment
- •- Person with unclear or invalid insurance status
