•Non menopausal women, severe (stage 3) hypertension, creatinine clearance < 30 ml/min, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, heart failure NYHA class 3 or 4, acute cardiovascular events in the last 3 months, bilateral > 50% carotid stenoses.
