Abstract
Covering grey hairs has been a common practice among men and women for many
years. They approach a beautician to get their hair colored as it is a very tedious process that
requires professional assistance. There are several types of hair dyes or hair colors available
worldwide. However, in India the traditional method followed is to apply henna on head.
Majority of the hair colouring products instructs to follow a long and tiresome process and they
require professional approach. Those are not for domestic use. It is not an easy exercise to use
such products. One must need some other’s help to apply. Especially women, for their long hair,
dyeing is an effortful one. There arose some questions as to whether there is any coloring
method that can avoid staining of hands and skin, the bowl and comb that we use, one which is
very user friendly and convenient just like we use a Shampoo. So to answer all these questions
my research ended up in the domestic use hair colour with easier application process.
Introduction
Right from the Roman Empire
period hair dyeing was one of the most
popular ways of people to ornament
themselves.
Post liberalization, Indians have caught on
to various fashion trends and one such
trend was changing grey hair to black. They
consider healthy black hair as a sign of their
youthfulness.
There were many methods of hair dyeing
been followed in the World. The aim of this
research study is to describe about my
attempt to introduce a revolutionary hair
colour that can make the process quick and
user friendly.
Science Behind Hair Greying
Grey hairs are very normal
symptoms of human’s aging process.
Hair colour is produced by cells known as
melanocytes. These melanocytes secrete a
pigment that is absorbed into the growing
hair fibers to give colour.

Hair colour depends on the presence and
ratios of two groups of Melanins:
Eumelanins (brown and black pigments)
and Pheomelanins (red and yellow
pigments). Variations in the ratio of these
pigments can produce a large number of
colors and tones.
Human hair growth is cyclical. At the end of
each hair cycle the pigment producing
melanocytes become damaged and die. If
the melanocyte stem cell reservoir at the
top of the hair follicle can recharge the bulb,
this keeps pigment production going. But
when the reservoir of stem cells is
exhausted, pigment production stops and
the hair turns grey.
Greying of hair can be dependent on one’s
diet, stress, life style, health conditions and
sometimes can be due to genetic reasons.
Premature Grey Hairs
It is normal for hair color to change,
as people age. But white hair can appear at
almost any time in life. Even teenagers and
people in their 20s may notice strands of
white hair.
Premature greying affected the socio-
cultural spheres of many lives. Females
were more prone to developing premature
greying of hair.
Vitamin deficiencies can cause hair to turn
prematurely grey. Genetics, stress, smoking
etc. can also contribute to hair greying.
The dyeing of hair is an ancient art that
involves treatment of the hair with various
chemical compounds. Back in the day,
people applied some kajal or kohl on the
hair to make it look naturally black within
minutes. There were dyes obtained from
plants. E.g.: Henna.
Applying Henna is a traditional hair dyeing
remedy used by Indians, Middle East and
Africa. Commercial versions of cosmetic
henna powder are available all across the
globe. Such products can include metal
salts, oils or waxes or some contents which
may be allergens. Gradually, the natural
dyes got replaced by synthetic ones, as they
colored the fabrics better and for longer
durations. These later were developed into
dyes for colouring human hair. They
created a black hair dye. However, it was
discovered that it was too toxic to use.
Hair Dyes and Hair Colors
 Hair dyes are harder or harsher
products than hair colors.
 Use of these chemicals can result in
a range of adverse effects, including
temporary skin irritation, hair
breakage, skin discoloration,
unexpected hair color results
Chemical based hair dyes
Not much changed until the 1800s,
when English chemist William Henry
Perkin made an accidental discovery that
changed hair dye forever. In an attempt to
generate a cure for malaria, Perkins created
the first synthesized dye in 1863. The color
was mauve and appropriately named
Mauveine. Soon after, his chemistry
professor August Hoffman derived a color-
changing molecule from Mauveine (called
para-phenylenediamine, or PPD), and this
invention of this synthetic dye resulted in
further research and development in hair
colors, it remains the foundation for most
permanent hair dyes today.

Difficulties in Applying Conventional
Hair Dyes
Starting from temporary hair dyes,
users are forced to follow a tedious process
to cover their grey hairs. Many of them tries
hair coloring and dyeing at home and it
goes horrible.
One must be very cautious about the
proportion of mixing colorant and
developer. If you happen to mix wrong
quantities the entire process goes in vain
and ends up with disappointing
unfavorable results.
The ammonia in hair dye can leave an
unpleasant smell that lasts for several
hours or even days. One may need a
facemask sometimes to avoid suffocation.
Though in a salon or at home, there are at
chances that the users will have applied
permanent hair dyes and looks too dark
and unusual.
One certainly needs assistance to apply hair
dye to a satisfactory level.
Modern hair dye is obviously useful at
coloring hair. Unfortunately, when dyeing
hair at home, one can often run into the
issue of hair color stains on the skin.
Hair dyeing is such a tough task for woman.
It takes a long time to colour their long hair
strands.
No hair dye in the World offers perfect
coloring experience.
One needs a pair of hand gloves, bowl and a
brush for preparing a mixture, a towel for
protecting the body skin from stains. It has
to be noted that wearing gloves does not
protect the scalp, lips, ears, and face
especially in case of beard and moustache
coloring. Even a small drop of dye can stain
your skin. Regular and prolonged exposure
to dyes can block the pores on the scalp,
that can adversely affect hair health. It is
also a life threatening one.
VIP Hair Colour Shampoo – A Revolution
After years of My extensive research
studies I introduced, for the 1st time in
India, VIP hair color shampoo. It breaks
down the complexity of hair dyes to a
simplified hair color shampoo.
The VIP hair color is not a conventional hair
dye; it is a hair color shampoo. You don’t
need any brush, bowl or gloves while using
this product.
The VIP hair color shampoo is the first of its
kind in the whole world.
VIP is a unique hair coloring formula which
is actually a three-in-one product
containing a shampoo, a hair colour and a
conditioner. Unlike other hair colors, to use
VIP Hair Colour Shampoo, one doesn’t need
gloves, and it doesn’t leave any stains, so
not even a brush or a bowl is required. It
can be easily applied with bare hands.
Upon use, it leaves a fresh fragrance similar
to regular shampoos, and it’s completely
tear-free. Of course, upon using, it gives
amazing results in just 15 minutes, and
gives 100% grey coverage. It’s unisex, and
both men and women may use it.
Another unique feature of this product is
that it is of 5 in 1 use. It is the FIRST time in
the World that the same hair colour
shampoo can be used for covering grey
hairs on head, beard, moustache, arms and
chest.
The specially designed 2 in 1 container
enables hassle-free application of the
4

product. The container design has been
registered.
VIP Hair Colour Shampoo gives the best
results for any hair length.
How to Use?
VIP Hair Colour Shampoo doesn’t
include any pre preparation or hardship of
complex application procedure.
ï‚· Please ensure that hair is completely
dry without oil and dust
ï‚· Wet both the hands thoroughly
ï‚· Take the required quantity of
shampoo in wet hands
ï‚· There are two different types of
shampoos in the container, mix
them well using wet hands until you
get white foam
ï‚· Apply the foam where grey hair
dominates
ï‚· Wash hands using soap or hand
wash within 3 minutes immediately
after application
ï‚· Wait for 15 minutes
ï‚· Wash hair/take bath after 15
minutes
ï‚· There is no need to use any other
shampoo or conditioner while using
this product
As it’s a product without any
ammonia, it’s devoid of any side effects and
is completely safe to use. It’s quite
innovative, as generally in the market you
would find a hair colour, a shampoo and a
conditioner separately, but never as a single
product. It can be used like a regular
shampoo with bare hands, unlike a
traditional hair dye which requires mixing
of some chemicals while wearing gloves.
Generally, hair dyes cause toxicity when
used, as they not only damage the skin, but
also cause allergic reactions in some cases.
Conclusion
Covering grey hairs using
conventional hair dyes was always a tough
game. Messing up around high
concentration of chemicals, high time
consumption and disappointing results
makes the hair dye application process
really a bad experience for customers. The
product VIP Hair Colour Shampoo is the
FIRST product in the World that makes the
user experience the easiest. The highlight of
the product is that hair coloring without
any gloves and with no stains on skin was
quiet impossible till date. I have introduced
this product to resolve all the complexities
that are associated with hair coloring and to
make the process an easiest one. This can
boost up the confidence and youthfulness of
the user.
