- •Patient undergoing elective surgery in general anaesthesia of duration less than 2 hours
- •No history of allergy to lignocaine or magnesium sulphate
- •Systolic BP >100mmhg and heart rate > 50bpm
- •No anticipated difficult airway

- •Refusal of consent by patient
