EVALUATION OF PREOPERATIVE ANXIETY IN ELECTIVE SURGICAL PATIENTS: A DESCRIPTIVE CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY.

To estimate proportion of patientswith preoperative anxiety among those coming for pre anaethesia check up usinga APAIS  scoring system. and also evaluating the factors associated with preoperative anxiety .Being aware of the patients’ anxiety and finding appropriate approachesfor their anxieties can be valuable. APAIS is an effective method to measurepatient anxiety and it might be beneficial to use during preoperative visitsand the need for such studies in Indian population is of greatsignificance  Patient satisfaction and superior outcomes can be achievedin this way.
