•Post-menopausal women between 40-85 years, with knee osteoarthritis according to the criteria proposed by the American College of Rheumatology. The participants should present grade II or III of severity of the osteoarthritis according to Kellgren & Lawrence and pain rated between 2 and 8 in the visual analogue scale.

•The participants will be excluded if they present: cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic or any other disease that could preclude the procedures; systolic blood pressure greater than 160/105 mmHg; ischemia or arrhythmia during the exercise test; lower limb venous insufficiency; previous thrombosis and/or phlebitis in lower limbs; musculoskeletal impairment that preclude the performance of physical activity; body mass index greater than 35 kg/m2; under use of medications affecting the autonomic nervous system (e.g., beta blockers, and non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker); under use of anticoagulants; under glucocorticoid infiltration in the last 3 months; or under use of any glucorticoid in the last 3 months.
