简要总结

The present study would lead to a betterunderstanding of Hypo/hyperthyroidism, especially in fluoride endemic areas,assess clinical outcomes for patients with ACS thus facilitating early diagnosis and managementof these diseases.  We also intend to develop a portable, hand-heldmedical diagnostic device that will be capable of diagnosis of these diseases.

入选标准

  • Patients with known or suspected thyroid abnormalities and skeletal fluorosis.
  • For the patients with acute coronary syndrome, inclusion age is 18 and above, both males and females.

排除标准

  • Patients below the age of 6 years and pregnant woman are excluded for thyroid study.
  • Patients identified with Hashimoto thyroiditis will also be excluded from the thyroid study.
  • For heart study, patients with renal failure will be excluded.

Understand thyroid dysfunction in fluoride endemic areas.

时间窗: For thyroid study, from the date of enrollment, sampling will be done once every 3 months, four times during the year. | For the heart study, sampling will be done four times - at the time of admission, at discharge, 1st and 6th month after the medical intervention.

Understand nexus between depression and cardiac function.
