- •diagnosis of intractable focal epilepsy
- •admitted to the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center for intracranial subdural strips, grids, or depth electrode placement study (invasive video-EEG)

- •respiratory, cardiac or cerebrovascular disease
- •pregnancy
- •prisoners
