简要总结

Title:

Effect of Plyometric Training Combined with Cognitive Motor Dual Task on Neuromuscular Efficiency and Reactive Performance among University Basketball Players

Introduction:

Basketball is a high-intensity intermittent sport requiring explosive movements such as sprinting, jumping, rapid direction changes, and quick decision-making. Vertical jump performance is a key determinant of offensive and defensive success and is influenced by neuromuscular efficiency, defined as the nervous system’s ability to recruit and coordinate motor units effectively. Plyometric training enhances neuromuscular efficiency by optimizing the stretch–shortening cycle; however, conventional protocols often neglect cognitive demands encountered during match play. Cognitive Motor Dual Task (CMDT) training integrates motor execution with cognitive challenges, potentially improving reaction time, attentional control, and neural processing efficiency. This study investigates the combined effect of plyometric training and CMDT on neuromuscular efficiency and reactive performance.

Methodology:

A quasi-experimental pre–post design was conducted among 34 male university basketball players (18–25 years) selected through convenient sampling. Participants were randomly allocated into an experimental group (plyometric training + CMDT) and a control group (traditional plyometric training). The intervention lasted six weeks, three sessions per week. Outcome measures included Reaction Ability Test, surface electromyography (EMG) assessing RMS amplitude, onset timing, and %MVIC for selected lower limb muscles, and Countermovement Jump (CMJ) test for vertical jump height. Neuromuscular efficiency was calculated as jump height divided by muscle activation (%MVIC). Data were analyzed using SPSS software.

Results:

The results will be revealed after completion of the study.

Conclusion:

The study aims to determine whether combining plyometric training with CMDT produces greater improvements in neuromuscular efficiency and reactive performance compared to traditional plyometric training among university basketball players.
