- •High-risk newborns include all babies <1800g birth weight, <34 weeks’ gestation, and any infant with neonatal convulsions, perinatal asphyxia, hyperbilirubinemia requiring exchange transfusion, hypoglycemia requiring IV Fluids, ventilation, culture positive sepsis, meningitis, inborn errors of metabolism and congenital malformations
