简要总结

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has strongly advocated integrating traditional medicine systems, including Ayurveda, into primary healthcare frameworks to advance universal health coverage, promote self-care, and reduce healthcare costs, particularly in low- and middle-income countries[i],[ii].

The use of medicinal plants as household remedies, especially through kitchen or home herbal gardens, can be an important component of Ayurveda-based primary healthcare[iii]. Traditional and complementary medicine have been shown to act as a primary source of care in underserved regions due to their accessibility and lower cost burden[iv]. However, there is a paucity of systematic, multicentric impact assessment studies evaluating the effectiveness of Ayurveda-based lifestyle advocacy and the utilisation of medicinal plants.

Therefore, a multicentric, community-based, impact assessment study is designed to generate robust evidence on the impact of Ayurveda-based lifestyle advocacy and the use of medicinal plants.
