•- Advanced cancer, locally or metastatic
•- Second line treatment ( prior targeted treatments not directly involving angiogenesis are permitted)
•- Presence of plasma and tissue sample
•- Disease progression on prior treatment and antitumour therapy-free period of > 4 weeks before baseline examination for current study
•- Sarcoma: second line, after one line of anthracycline based chemotherapy
•- Melanoma: second line, after one line chemotherapy containing DTIC. Prior vaccination and anti-CTLA4 immune therapy allowed
•- Esophageal cancer: second line after cisplatinum based chemotherapy
