- •DM patients undergoing outpatient treatment at the Unhas Hospital internal clinic who did not receive a referral to undergo an eye examination.
- •Patients who have been diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus who receive a referral to have an eye examination at the eye outpatient clinic at Unhas Hospital
- •Patients who are willing to become respondents to be given health education interventions and provide written consent.

- •Diabetes Mellitus patients who had been diagnosed with Diabetic Retinopathy before this research began.
- •Patients who are not willing to be respondents
- •Diabetes Mellitus patients who suffer from mental health disorders
