入选标准
- •over 18 years old with gingival hyperpigmentation at the attached gingiva on the labial surface of the contralateral upper anterior teeth due to normal variation; 2) healthy; 3) non-smokers or former smokers who had quit smoking for at least 2 weeks before and during the study period; 4) having all remaining permanent teeth from the upper right first premolar to the upper left first premolar; 5) having a thick gingival phenotype; and 6) having no probing depth greater than 4 mm in the study area.
排除标准
- •oral lesions affecting the soft tissue and underlying bone in the study area
- •systemic diseases affecting gingival hyperpigmentation
- •being on medications affecting gingival color, such as chloroquine, quinine, minocycline, zidovudine, chlorpromazine, ketoconazole, bleomycin, and cyclophosphamide
- •undergoing orthodontic treatment
- •pregnant women
- •having received radiotherapy in the oral and maxillofacial region or anti-angiogenic or anti-resorptive chemotherapy and
- •having a pacemaker

For the electrosurgery-treated site, the loop electrode was also continuously moved with brushing strokes along the contour of the gingival margin. The setting power was not more than 5. The gingival epithelium was ablated to a depth of approximately 0.5 mm until the dark pigmented area was removed. If bleeding was observed immediately postoperatively, gauze soaked with 0.9% NSS was applied until the bleeding stopped.,The ceramic bur was continuously moved with brushing strokes along the contour of the gingival margin and rinsed with 0.9% NSS throughout the procedure.
