- •o Patients undergoing total hip replacement surgery
- •o other medium to major surgical procedures under general anaesthesia from the Clinics for Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- •o Written declaration of consent from the patient

- •o Age < 60 years
- •o Pre-existing dementia
- •o Immunosuppression with medication
- •o Chronic skin diseases
- •o Rejection by patients
- •o Previous participation in this study
- •o Pre-existing addiction or psychosis
- •o Patients with pacemakers and deep brain stimulation
- •o Existing anticholinergic medication
