- •Participants were not allowed to be included in the intervention group if they wore a shoe size >50 or specially designed orthopaedic shoes, as for example one shoe with an elevated sole. Participants were also excluded if there was a diagnosis of the following: diabetes mellitus, sensibility disturbances in the area of the foot, complex regional pain syndrome or unspecific musculoskeletal disorders, like fibromyalgia.
