简要总结
Comparative evaluation of effectiveness of various disinfectants in deep cariouslesion -an in vivo study
AIMThe aim of this study is to access and compare the cavity disinfection efficacy of chlorhexidine, diode laser andphoto-activated disinfection with Diode laser in deep carious lesion.
OBJECTIVE
• To evaluate decrease in bacterial count in deep carious lesion, after treating cavity with2% chlorhexidine, 810nm diode laser at 1.5 W and using Photoactivated disinfectionwith Diode laser.
• To evaluate the clinical and radiographic success of cases treated with all the threecavity disinfectant technique at 24 hours ,1 month and 6 months follow up
Criteria for evaluationMicrobiological Evaluation will be done by inoculation of dentinal sample before and aftercavity disinfection on culture media.Clinical Evaluationâ–ª pain assessment with VAS scaleâ–ª vitality using thermal and electric pulp testingâ–ª tenderness on percussionRadiographic evaluation at 24 hours, 1 month and 6 months

入选标准
- •Deep carious lesion Normal response to EPT and thermal testing No clinical and radiographic signs of pulp involvement No history of spontaneous or night pain No tender on percussion.
排除标准
- •Any medical history if present Previous dental treatment of involved tooth Extensive tooth loss Affected by periodontitis Received any analgesic and antibiotic therapy since 4 weeks.
结局指标
主要结局
Photoactivated disinfection with diode laser should have better effect than chlorhexidine & diode laser as cavity disinfectant
时间窗: the outcome will be assessed after 1 month & 6 months
次要结局
- Use of disinfectant should increase success of the treatment preventing need for root canal treatment.(the outcome will be assessed after 1 month & 6 months)
