入选标准
- •Group 1: Clinical group (Children with Sub-lexical dyslexia)
- •A group of 50 children with sub-lexical dyslexia (each in Kannada and Tamil), from Grades III to VII will be recruited in the clinical group.
- •1.Children with the native language of either Kannada or Tamil and going to schools with a medium of instruction as Kannada or Tamil.
- •2.Normal IQ, vision, and hearing.
- •3.Should have Akshara knowledge in the respective language (Kannada and Tamil).
- •4.Poor non-word reading and near-normal word reading skills.
- •Group 2: Age-matched TD children
- •A group of 50 age-matched children (each in Kannada and Tamil) from Grades III to VII will be recruited in this group based on the following criteria:
- •1.Children with the native language of Kannada and Tamil, going to schools with a medium of instruction as Kannada and Tamil.
- •2.Matched to children with sub-lexical dyslexia in terms of age, gender and grade.
- •3.Normal IQ, vision, and hearing.
- •4.Should have Akshara knowledge in the respective language (Kannada and Tamil).
- •5.Age-appropriate word and non-word reading skills.
- •Group 3:Reading-matched TD children
- •A group of 50 reading-matched children (each in Kannada and Tamil) will be recruited in this group based on the following criteria:
- •1.Children with the native language of Kannada and Tamil, going to schools with a medium of
- •instruction as Kannada and Tamil.
- •2.Matched to children with sub-lexical dyslexia regarding reading level and gender.
- •3.Normal IQ, vision, and hearing.
- •4.Should have Akshara knowledge in the respective language (Kannada and Tamil).
- •5.Age-appropriate word and non-word reading skills.
排除标准
- •Group 1: Clinical group (Children with Sub-lexical dyslexia)
- •1.Children with obvious psychological and/or social issues.
- •2.Children with co-morbid language disorders like Specific Language Impairment (SLI)
- •3.Children with irregular schooling.
- •4.Children with any neurological or motor issues.
- •Group 2: Age-matched TD children
- •1.Children with obvious psychological and/or social issues.
- •2.Children with irregular schooling.
- •3.Children with any neurological or motor issues.
- •4.Children with a history of delayed speech and language development.
- •Group 3: Reading-matched TD children
- •1.Children with obvious psychological and/or social issues.
- •2.Children with irregular schooling.
- •3.Children with any neurological or motor issues.
- •4.Children with a history of delayed speech and language development.
