- •Written informed consent, In- or outpatient at the Department of Respiratory Medicine, University Hospital Frankfurt, Existing diagnosis of one or more of the following: pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, lung carcinoma, interstitial lung disease, cystic fibrosis
- •Written informed consent, Scheduled bronchoscopy with bronchoalveolar lavage

- •Suspected or confirmed pulmonary infection with a pathogen of risk group 3 or higher (e.g., Mycobacterium tuberculosis) as published by Committee on Biological Agents / German Federal Institute of Occupational Safety and Health,
- •Inability to understand the nature, scope, and possible consequences of the study
