In conclusion, the researcher found that doll therapy could reduce BPSD including, agitation/aggression, hallucination, irritability/lability, and nighttime behaviors severity that measured by NPI-Q Thai. On the contrary, severities of delusion, depression/dysphoria, anxiety, elation/euphoria, apathy/indifference, disinhibition, motor disturbance, and appetite/eating were not different from the baseline after intervention. In addition, the caregiver distress reduced significantly.

入选标准

  • 1\. Patients are 60 years old or above, 2\. Patients are diagnosed with moderate to severe dementia by the DSM\-5 criteria includes (A) evidence of significant cognitive decline from a previous level of performance in one or more cognitive domains (learning and memory, language, executive function, complex attention, perceptual\-motor and social cognition)(B) the cognitive deficits interfere with independence in everyday activities. At a minimum, assistance should be required with complex instrumental activities of daily living. (C) the cognitive deficits do not occur exclusively in the context of a delirium (D) the cognitive deficits are not better explained by another
  • or mental disorder and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) or Rowland Universal Dementia Assessment (RUDAS) tool., 3\. Patients have BPSD that have at least one symptom of delusion, hallucinations, agitation/aggression, depression/dysphoria, anxiety, elation/euphoria, apathy/indifference, disinhibition, irritability/lability motor disturbance, nighttime behaviors and appetite/eating., 4\. Patients live in the home setting

  • 1\. Patients and/or caregivers refuse to participate, 2\. Patients who deny or do not respond to doll intervention.
