简要总结

Clavicle fractures are common injuries requiring surgical intervention. Providing effective regional anaesthesia for clavicle surgeries is essential to ensure optimal analgesia with facilitated intraoperative conditions and enhanced postoperative recovery than general anaesthesia. The novel approach - Clavipectoral fascial plane block minimizes or spares the phrenic nerve and motor fibres involvement while providing adequate surgical anesthesia than Interscalene brachial plexus block. With increasing use of ultrasound guidance both these techniques can now be performed with enhanced precision and safety. By evaluating the benefits and limitations of each approach this study aims to provide evidence based insights into optimizing regional anaesthesia strategies for clavicular procedures and hypothesizes that Clavipectoral fascial plane block with superficial cervical plexus block is superior to Interscalene block with superficial cervical plexus block in terms of duration of analgesia along with ease of technique and lesser complications.

结局指标

主要结局

To compare the analgesic efficacy of ultrasound guided Clavipectoral fascial plane block with Superficial cervical plexus block versus ultrasound guided Interscalene brachial plexus block with Superficial cervical plexus block in patients undergoing clavicle fracture surgeries measured using Visual Analogue Scale.

时间窗: Postoperatively at 1,2,4,6,8,10, 12,16,20 and 24 hours.

次要结局

  • To determine the ease of technique by means of block performance time.(From needle insertion till the needle is taken out after final injection)
  • To assess incidence of complications.(From needle insertion till 24 hours postoperatively)
  • To evaluate patient satisfaction score using five-point Likert scale(End of surgery till 24 hours postoperatively)
