The title of the study is Evaluation of SclerostinLevels in Periodontitis Patients Treated with Chitosan Fiber as an Adjunct toScaling and Root Planing A Clinico-biochemical Study. A total of 20 sites from 10 systemically healthy subjects satisfying the inclusion criteria and providing consent for study participation will be selected and split into two groups, test sites and control sites. The test sites will be receiving scaling and root planing followed by the placement of chitosan fiber subgingivally as a local drug delivery agent. The control sites will be receiving scaling and root planing alone. The sclerostin levels from the GCF samples will be assessed using ELISA kit prior to the procedure and after 3 months post operatively. These levels will be evaluated and compared in both the groups. Clinical parameters such as Plaque index , Probing pocket depth and Clinical attachment loss will also be evaluated and compared in both the groups pre operatively and after 3 months post operatively.

入选标准
- •Subjects with chronic periodontitis with pocket depth of more than or equal to 5mm Selected teeth should be devoid of root demineralisation and or root caries Systemically healthy subjects Subjects with good compliance.
排除标准
- •Subjects with systemic diseases and conditions Subjects who underwent periodontal treatment within 6 months prior to the study Smokers and Tobacco users Pregnant and lactating women.
