简要总结

Out of the 6087 people who took part in the study, 10.1% had experienced some form of child maltreatment that had been reported to the statutory authorities. By the 40-year follow-up, 72 participants (1.2% of the total) had been admitted for non-affective psychosis. When the data were analysed while adjusting for other factors, it was found that all types of child maltreatment that were reported and confirmed, such as neglect, physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, as well as cases involving multiple types of maltreatment, were associated with higher rates of admissions for non-affective psychosis.
