  • 1) Preterm neonates (<30 weeks) admitted in the neonatal unit at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women and 2) Needing Parenteral Nutrition providing > 75% of energy expenditure requirements for at least 7 days

排除标准

  • 1) Blood culture positive sepsis (2)Unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia (requiring exchange transfusion) (3) Metabolic disorders including lactic and/or uncompensated acidosis (4) No parenteral consent (5) Administration of Intravenous lipid infusion prior to study (6) Postnatal age > 7 days

Intravenous Fish Oil based Lipid Emulsion as Pharmaconutrient Strategy in High-Risk Cardiac Surgery Patients: a Phase II Dosing StudyGiven the recently meta-analyzed data from previous RCTs about fish oil , we hypothesize that the provision of intravenous (i.v.) FO (0.20 g/kg and 0.50 g/kg) to cardiac surgery patients may reduce the development of postoperative infections and organ dysfunctions through modulation of cytokines and chemokine release that regulate the activity of various immune cell populations.
