简要总结
Clinical, randomized and controlled study that will be carried out in the emergency units and clinics of the Bambino Hospital in Feira de Santana, Bahia, with children who need intravenous therapy using a peripheral intravenous catheter. A pilot study will be carried out with 40 children aged between 29 days of age and 12 years of age, incomplete, to obtain the necessary information to calculate the sample size. Children will be randomly allocated to an intervention group, in which peripheral intravenous catheterization will be performed with the aid of the Venoscope IV Plus® transilluminator, and control group, with peripheral intravenous catheterization conducted by the traditional method. These CIPs will be carried out by nurses and nursing technicians who are duly qualified for this research project. The collaborator researcher will observe the peripheral intravenous catheterization and apply the data collection instrument, complementing the information by consulting the medical record of the selected child. The data will be analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics. All ethical principles of research involving human beings will be respected
