- •Graves' hyperthyroidism was based on clinical and biochemical features including presence of signs and symptoms of thyrotoxicosis, diffuse enlargement of thyroid gland, and elevated serum free thyroid hormones accompanied with suppressed serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels.
排除标准
- •Patients who were suspected to have the causes of hyperthyroidism other than Graves’ disease (i.e., toxic multinodular goiter, toxic adenoma and thyroiditis), radioactive iodine uptake and/or technetium pertechnetate thyroid scan were performed as indicated to verify the diagnosis. Patients who had the causes of hyperthyroidism other than Graves’disease and had recurrent hyperthyroidism were excluded.
