Acute effect of an Equine Therapy session on Postural Sway and Functional Mobility in children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder: a randomized controlled clinical trial

入选标准

  • Only children and adolescents with a closed medical and/or psychological diagnosis, according to the DSM-V, will be included for the group with autistic spectrum disorder; with levels of mild or moderate impairment; able to understand and follow simple commands; who have had no previous experience, or at least in the last year, with hippotherapy; only participants whose parents have read and signed the Free and Informed Consent Term (FICT) and Assent Term (TA) will be included. For participants with typical development, only children or adolescents will be included: who do not present neurological alterations or motor disorders; participants with learning disorders, attention deficits and postural changes, certified by physicians; whose parents have read and signed the Free and Informed Consent Term (FICT) and Assent Term (TA);

排除标准

  • In the group of participants diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, children and adolescents will not be admitted: those with epilepsy or seizure episodes; who have had previous contact with hippotherapy in the last year; who cannot remain in semi-static orthostatic posture for at least 30 seconds; who are unable to complete the entire protocol of the present study; or whose parents and guardians do not sign the Free and Informed Consent Term (FICT) and Consent Term (TA). In the group of typical children and adolescents, participants will not be included: who have contact with horses through equestrian practice, or recreational riding; who are unable to complete the entire protocol of the present study; or whose parents and guardians do not sign the Free and Informed Consent Term (FICT) and Consent Term (TA);
