Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analogue under development by Novo Nordisk. In preclinical studies, cagrilintide monotherapy achieved a 7.8% body weight reduction from baseline in obese insulin-resistant non-human primates over 42 days. When combined with the GIPR antagonist AT7687, body weight reduction increased to 12.2%, with the combination also improving insulin sensitivity (18.9% increase in glucose disappearance rate vs. 1.3% decline with cagrilintide alone).
