Leqembi is a medicine for treating adults with mild cognitive impairment (memory and thinking problems) and mild dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease (early Alzheimer’s disease). It is for use in people who have only one or no copy of ApoE4, a certain form of the gene for the protein apolipoprotein E, and who have amyloid beta plaques in the brain. Leqembi contains the active substance lecanemab.
Therapeutic Indication
### Therapeutic indication Leqembi is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with a clinical diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment and mild dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease (Early Alzheimer’s disease) who are apolipoprotein E 4 (ApoE ε4) non-carriers or heterozygotes with confirmed amyloid pathology (see section 4.4).
