Aarvik Therapeutics (搜索), an ADC-focused biotechnology company, has successfully closed its Series Seed 2 financing round with participation from multiple investors, including Indian pharmaceutical company Laurus Labs. The funding validates the substantial progress made on Aarvik's proprietary MUTTA (搜索)™ (MUlti-epitope Targeting Tetravalent Antibody) platform and will support advancement of the company's ADC pipeline.
MUTTA™ Platform Technology
Since launching in 2021, Aarvik has developed its proprietary MUTTA (搜索)™ platform with a focus on creating next-generation antibody drug conjugates that can expand the success of ADCs beyond a limited number of targets. The company's comprehensive approach facilitates lowering of the minimum effective dose (MED) while maintaining or improving the maximum tolerated dose (MTD), thereby significantly improving the therapeutic window.
The platform represents a novel approach to ADC development, combining multi-epitope targeting with tetravalent antibody design to address limitations of current ADC therapies.
Funding and Strategic Partnerships
The Series Seed 2 round attracted investments from a diverse set of investors, including original Series Seed investors as well as new pharma and tech professionals, and contract research and contract development and manufacturing organizations. Laurus Labs, a research-driven pharmaceutical and biotechnology company with operations across multiple therapeutic areas, joined as both an investor and strategic partner.
"As part of our global support of innovation and progress in healthcare, we are delighted to invest in Aarvik's efforts to pursue breakthroughs in oncology therapies," said Dr. Satyanarayana Chava, Founder & CEO of Laurus Labs. "We look forward to a highly productive collaboration that results in tangible benefits for patients across the globe."
Company Progress and Pipeline Development
Following its initial Series Seed financing round, Aarvik established laboratories in Hayward and signed a research collaboration agreement. In August 2024, the option was exercised to exclusively license the research collaboration program, marking a significant milestone in the company's development.
"Aarvik continues to demonstrate that it can combine its deep ADC drug development expertise with its next-generation MUTTA (搜索)™ platform to enable powerful oncology therapies," said Jagath Reddy Junutula, PhD, Co-founder, President and CEO of Aarvik Therapeutics (搜索). "Aarvik relentlessly pursues novel therapies for hard-to-treat cancer indications through research and innovation."
The new funding will allow Aarvik to reach targeted research milestones and further advance its pipeline of ADC assets focused on hard-to-treat cancer indications.
Strategic Validation
Ram K. Reddy, serial entrepreneur, venture partner and Independent Board Member of Aarvik Therapeutics (搜索), emphasized the significance of the funding round: "We are delighted to see Aarvik reach this new milestone. The support from new as well as existing investors is a reflection of the progress achieved by Aarvik and the potential of Aarvik's pipeline."
The investment from Laurus Labs, which generated ₹5,554 crore in revenue in FY2025 and operates 15 facilities approved by global regulators including the USFDA, WHO, and EMA, provides Aarvik with access to extensive manufacturing and development capabilities as it advances its ADC programs toward clinical development.
