Dr. Doody brings over 10 years of pharmaceutical leadership experience in clinical development of therapeutics targeting neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease (搜索). Her appointment strengthens ABLi's leadership as the company prepares to launch Phase 3 programs for Parkinson's disease, Multiple System Atrophy (搜索) (MSA), and Dementia with Lewy Body (搜索) (DLB).
Extensive Experience in Neurodegeneration Drug Development
During her tenure as Global Head of Neurodegeneration in late-stage Neuroscience at F. Hoffman-LaRoche (搜索) (Roche), Dr. Doody led the development of several high-profile therapeutic programs. She oversaw the development of monoclonal antibodies Crenezumab and Gantenerumab for familial and sporadic Alzheimer's disease (搜索), and led late-stage development for Tominersin (搜索), an antisense oligonucleotide for Huntington's disease (搜索).
Notably, Dr. Doody also led the late-stage development program for Prasinezumab, an anti-alpha synuclein (搜索) monoclonal antibody for Parkinson's disease (搜索) that is currently in Phase 3 development. After leaving Roche in 2024, she joined biotechnology company Axxium Life (搜索) as Chief Medical Officer and Director of Development, where she oversees a pipeline of active immunotherapy medications directed against chronic and neurodegenerative diseases.
Prior to her industry career, Dr. Doody held the Effie Marie Cain Chair in Alzheimer's Disease (搜索) research at Baylor College of Medicine and is presently a Distinguished Emeritus Professor in Neurology. She completed her medical training at McGill University and did her neurology residency at Baylor, where she developed her expertise in Alzheimer's disease. Her PhD work in cognitive anthropology was completed at Rice University.

ABLi's lead candidate, risvodetinib (ABLi-148009), is a potent, selective small-molecule inhibitor of the non-receptor c-Abl kinases (搜索), designed for once-daily oral use. The drug targets the underlying biological mechanisms driving Parkinson's disease (搜索) initiation and progression, addressing a significant unmet medical need since all currently marketed therapeutic approaches only help manage symptoms without slowing or stopping disease progression.
Risvodetinib has demonstrated the ability to modify the Parkinson's disease (搜索) pathophysiologic pathway and impact neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory disease processes in humans. In a significant clinical milestone, risvodetinib recently became the first monotherapy to improve patient quality of life in a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial (NCT05424276) while simultaneously reducing underlying disease pathology and suppressing the underlying disease process in patients with untreated Parkinson's disease.
